Bamboo art

Now I think Ive realised where Im heading in my project!
Ive started looking at materials now since i know the structure type Im goin for in my 3D work.
As you can see Bamboo sticks was really fun to work with, but caused a lot of paper cuts!!
I skinned the bamboo stick and got think strips. I was thinking of glueing on the strips but then i found an easier way by just weaving it through the wire. I think it kind of worked but the bamboo would sometimes snap which would take away from the smooth texture i was going for.
